Giuseppe and Laura’s special day at a Great Fosters

The Great Fosters Wedding Story – Giuseppe, a plumber during the week and footballer at the weekends (having scored 111 goals in his career at Woking FC!) and Laura, a Senior Human Resources Adviser who loves spending most of her time with their gorgeous children, met on separate nights out in Ascot. Giuseppe was on a football team night out and Laura out for a friend’s birthday. After being together a year, Giuseppe completely surprised Laura by dropping to one knee on their anniversary and popping the question. Between laughing, crying, and asking Giuseppe whether he was joking, she managed to say yes.

THE VENUE

The venue was one of the most important parts of the wedding for them and, after much searching, they finally found their dream venue at Great Fosters (www.greatfosters.co.uk). It offered plenty of space for their large number of guests and they were wooed by the incredible gardens and charming building full of history. It provided the perfect backdrop to their July wedding and the couple felt it was somewhere they could keep coming back to in the future to stay and re-live their special day. All the guests agreed and kept commenting on how beautiful the day was. (Well done to the groom for suggesting Great Fosters as their venue!).

The bride and groom wanted everyone to feel the love between them and be blown away by the location, atmosphere and delicious food. From the looks on everyone’s faces, I’d definitely say this was achieved!

FAVOURITE MEMORY

Their favourite memory of the day was the wedding ceremony, especially watching their son walk down the aisle with the rings. The reception was great fun – the couple were lifted above the wedding guests (a traditional part of Italian weddings) during the first dance, which made it very memorable – even if it was a bit surreal!

THE WEDDING SPREADSHEET

The happy couple chose an elegant ivory and dusty pink colour scheme, with hints of lace for that vintage feel. Their top tip: spreadsheets! Everyone loves a spreadsheet and they proved to be a life saver when it came to budgeting, organising suppliers, keeping track of guest numbers and even arranging the dreaded table plan.
Particular mentions should go to Gabi at The Fine Flower Company (www.thefineflowerscompany.co.uk) for arranging the beautiful flowers; Amy Lacey (www.amylacey.co.uk) for the gorgeous hair and make up; and Stephen Bishop Suiting (www.stephenbishopsuiting.com) for providing perfect suits for the groomsmen. They all helped to make Giuseppe and Laura’s special day come together.

HAVING A WEDDING FILM

Giuseppe and Laura say that re-living the little moments that they had forgotten or missed made having a videographer the best decision they made. It meant Laura was able to see the groom getting ready – something most brides never see – and they love re-watching the day to see the expressions of their friends and family again.

It was an absolute joy to capture Laura & Giuseppe’s magical day, thanks guys for letting me be a small part of your day.
